Hard truth: Your resistance to suspending disbelief is keeping you stuck.
Going “ALL IN” can feel SO scary!
Why??
Because we have normalized whatever is currently happening in our lives and our subconscious beliefs, based on our experiences or observations, sound the fire alarm when we venture towards the unknown.
I’m here to interrupt those beliefs and invite you to hop into that TJ Maxx dressing room and try some new ones on for size!
What IF…..you did suspend disbelief. (If I was in person I’d joke: “I see you in the overalls over there with your eyebrow raised…”)
I’ll tell you what MIGHT happen…
- You might get everything you want.
- You might experience immeasurable fulfillment.
- You might normalize life being INCREDIBLE all the time.
The realists in the inbox are over here shaking their heads, thinking “yeah, that’d be nice…”.
I know because I know that doubt.
Every time I feel bogged down my by OWN next big move, I have the same thoughts!
It doesn’t go away, but the doubt voice starts to shrink and the belief voice becomes louder with practice.
My Client’s Story
My 31 year-old client, Paris (name shared with permission) is one of my favorite examples of this. She was living a life that was inauthentic. She felt stuck.
She worked with several coaches, therapists and mentors, but something was missing.
I randomly posted something on Instagram (where I used to hang out) about connecting to my loved one and receiving a message about their soul journey and why they passed away. I shared how it was deeply healing and helpful for me so that I could move forward after their death.
She was LIT UP. She didn’t know what I was talking about, but she knew she needed to find out what it was about.
In our first session, I channeled her mother who passed away when she was about 20. In the very first session she relayed insights that showed my client that this was the missing puzzle piece to figuring out how to become un-stuck.
In that moment, this client decided to go ALL IN. She dug her heels into understanding soul journey, how her own beliefs and expectations about life were creating her reality, and how to apply techniques to shift her life in the direction of (what seemed like) her high in the sky goals.
Fast forward 1 year later…
Her mother shared action steps through me during our sessions, mapped out plans on her behalf, and was able to help my client in a way that (as she explained) she couldn’t when she was alive - because now she had a 360 view of everything.
My client followed the steps her mother shared, and even though she was scared….she was SO OVER feeling stuck that she decided to suspend disbelief and go full force into trust.
And.. she DID IT.
She accomplished her goal and normalized what she was seeking as a result of her pre-established trust in her mother’s guidance.
Moral of the story: digging your heels in and deciding to go ALL IN to change your current situation can be lovingly supported by your loved ones on the other side.
I work with a LOT of people who are committed to seeing their goals through and willing to suspend disbelief, even when they have no clue how all of this medium stuff works.
Sometimes not understanding something doesn’t mean it isn’t helpful.
Trying something that COULD be the game changer, even if we don’t understand it (cough, cough… mediumship?) might be the most brave, loving next step you could take to get to where you want to be.
